Environment & Checklist

Diagnostic Troubleshooting Checklist

If you encounter issues during scans or bulk processing, review this standard checklist before opening a forum thread:

  1. Verify server GD Library or Imagick PHP extension is enabled.
  2. Confirm directory permissions allow write access to /wp-content/uploads/.
  3. Ensure php.ini memory_limit is set to at least 256M for bulk batch jobs.
  4. Test optional AI API keys directly using the "Test Connection" button in Connector Hub.

Supported Versions

We actively maintain compatibility and run automated integration tests against the following baselines:

  • WordPress Core: WordPress 6.0 to 6.6+ (tested up to latest nightly build)
  • PHP Engine: PHP 7.4, 8.0, 8.1, 8.2, and 8.3+
  • Database: MySQL 5.7+ or MariaDB 10.3+

Where should I ask for plugin help?

Use the WordPress.org support forum so solutions remain searchable and useful to the community. We monitor the forums regularly.

Why is AVIF or WebP unavailable?

Your active WordPress image editor may not support encoding that format. Check the Dashboard capability status panel and continue using other supported formats.

Why was an image URL blocked in Stock Hunt?

Cyphex blocks private, local, malformed, or unsafe destinations to reduce SSRF (Server-Side Request Forgery) risk. Ensure you are requesting a direct, public HTTPS URL.

Do I need external API keys?

No for local image tools (compression, resizing, duplicate audits). Keys for Gemini, OpenAI, or Groq are optional and only needed to enable AI-powered workflows.

Can I recover an optimized image?

Yes. If the operation was run with backup enabled, you can click "Restore" on the operation ledger. We always recommend keeping a separate site database backup before large batch edits.
