Free plugin policy

Privacy and data handling.

The plugin is designed to work primarily through your WordPress installation and any optional provider accounts you choose to connect.

1. Separation of Processing Activities

This policy governs two distinct activities: your visit to the https://hunter.cyphex.agency marketing website, and your use of the Cyphex Image Hunter WordPress plugin running on your own server.

Website Analytics (Marketing Site)

Our marketing site uses anonymous, self-hosted analytics. We do not use third-party tracking pixels, cookies, or marketing databases. We do not collect or sell personal information.

Plugin Data Processing (Local Server)

Cyphex Image Hunter is a self-hosted WordPress plugin. Core operations (resizing, local compression, media audits, duplicate checking) take place entirely on your host server. The codebase is open-source and has no hidden reporting backdoors to Cyphex Agency.

2. Key Storage & Encryption

Any API keys you configure (such as Groq, OpenAI, or Gemini) are stored in your local WordPress database. Cyphex encrypts these tokens in your options table to prevent database leaks. Decryption occurs only at the moment a request is sent directly to the provider endpoint.

3. Server Logs & Data Retention

Scans and compression metrics are logged to your database using transient cache values. You can clear this cache at any time from the settings dashboard. We do not retain server logs of your image paths or metadata on Cyphex servers.

4. Subprocessors & Data Transfers

When you enable an optional AI or stock provider connector, request data (such as prompts or image inputs) is transferred directly from your server to that provider. We list the standard subprocessors below:

  • Pexels & Pixabay: Sideload stock searches directly from public HTTPS proxy targets.
  • AI Engine APIs (Groq, Gemini, OpenAI): Prompt inputs are sent directly under your own provider billing terms. We recommend reviewing their respective privacy policies for details.

5. User Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Because Cyphex does not host or store your plugin data, we cannot modify, delete, or export your images or logs. You hold complete ownership and control over your WordPress installation and database, meaning you can export or delete all plugin options natively.
